BEACON FALLS — Mr. Joseph S. Hennessey,
53, beloved husband of 35 years to Laurie Oldakowski, passed away suddenly on
Monday, Sept. 1, 2008, at his home.
Joe was born on Jan. 4, 1955, in Derby, to Joseph S. Hennessey Sr. and E. June
Root Hennessey of Southbury. He was a self-employed electrician and formerly
worked for The Farrell Corp. in Ansonia for 14 years, Kerite in Seymour, and
Peter and Paul in Naugatuck.
Joe attended Valley Forge Military Academy in Pennsylvania and was a graduate of
Naugatuck High School. He was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and a member of the
Eagle Riders. He also enjoyed playing pool and driving his truck.
In addition to his devoted wife and parents, he leaves three sons, Justin
Hennessey of Beacon Falls, Randall Hennessey and his wife, Sherri, of Palm Cost,
Fla., and Joseph Hennessey III of Beacon Falls; a granddaughter, Hannah
Elizabeth Hennessey of Palm Coast, Fla.; a brother, Darrin Hennessey of Derby;
four sisters, Doreen Elnitsky and Robin McKenna, both of Southbury, Lillian
Smith and her husband, Ted, of Beacon Falls, Patricia Russo and her husband,
William, of Woodbridge; and several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by
his mother-in-law, Ruby Murdock and her husband, George, of Holly Hill, Fla.; a
brother-in-law, Joseph Oldakowski and his wife, Teresa, of Deltona, Fla.; and a
sister-in-law, Kathy Yanosky and her husband, Robert, of Roxbury.
Family and friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, with a memorial service at 7
p.m. at the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 West Church St., Seymour. Interment
